Annette makes memory bears, dachshunds and elephants from old clothes, and from the clothes of someone who has died. She works from Shepton Mallet, Somerset. Finished pieces post UK-wide, and she can take clothes and fabric posted to her.

The work
The cloth already did the hard part.
Annette does not start from new fabric. She starts from what you send. If a zip, a crest or a row of buttons can stay, they stay. That is the point of a memory piece. You can still see who it came from.
How it works
Write, send the clothes, wait for the sewing.

Write first
Tell Annette who the clothes belonged to, how many pieces you hope for, and what you would like. A bear, a dog, an elephant, or you can decide together.

Send the clothes
Post them to Shepton Mallet. A jumper, a shirt, leftover fabric, a jacket with the zip still in it. She only needs enough for the piece. Say if you want leftovers back.

She cuts and sews
Buttons, collars, pockets and crests stay when they can. Each one is stuffed and finished by hand. There is no shop stock.

It comes home
Posted back anywhere in the UK. A keepsake you can sit on a chair or put in a child's arms.
