Handmade memory gifts
Clothes you cannot throw away, sewn into something you can hold.
I make memory bears, dachshunds, elephants and rabbits from old clothes, and from the clothes of someone who has died. I work from Shepton Mallet, Somerset. Finished pieces post UK-wide, and I can take clothes and fabric posted to me.

The work
The cloth already did the hard part.
I do not start from new fabric. I start from what you send. If a zip, a crest or a row of buttons can stay, they stay. That is the point of a memory piece. You can still see who it came from.
How it works
Write, send the clothes, wait for the sewing.

Write first
Tell me who the clothes belonged to, how many pieces you hope for, and what you would like. A bear, a dog, an elephant, a rabbit, or we can decide together.

Send the clothes
Post them to Shepton Mallet. A jumper, a shirt, leftover fabric, a jacket with the zip still in it. I only need enough for the piece. Say if you want leftovers back.

I cut and sew
Buttons, collars, pockets and crests stay when they can. I stuff and finish each one by hand. There is no shop stock.
04
It comes home
Posted back anywhere in the UK. A keepsake you can sit on a chair or put in a child's arms.
