AnnetteMemory Bears
Three cream memory bears in matching knitted jumpers, sitting together

About

I sew one piece at a time.

I am a seamstress in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. The work here is memory gifts. Bears, mostly. Sometimes a dachshund. Sometimes an elephant, if the cloth and the story ask for it.

People send clothes they cannot put in a charity bag. A relative has died, or a child has grown out of a school jumper they still want in the house. I cut those garments carefully and sew them into something you can hold.

I keep what the garment already was, when I can. A collar. A row of buttons. A brass zip. A school crest. That is why two bears from the same family can match, and why a dachshund might arrive holding a small heart with Mum on it.

Finished pieces post anywhere in the UK. Clothes and leftover fabric can be posted to me in Shepton Mallet. You do not have to drop them off.

There is no shop and no ready-made stock. If you write, I will tell you what the cloth can become. I also post work on Facebook.
